The main valve body features a globe-pattern hydrodynamically swept profile cast from premium ductile iron (EN-GJS-500-7) with a resilient elastomeric diaphragm-actuator assembly. The pilot control loop is engineered from marine-grade stainless steel (AISI 316) incorporating an adjustable direct-acting pressure reducing pilot, stainless steel needle valve for speed regulation, and an internal self-cleaning mesh strainer that prevents suspended river silt from fouling control orifices. Indus PRVs are 100% hydraulically operated. The valve utilizes the kinetic and hydrostatic energy of the water flowing through the pipeline. The stainless steel pilot senses downstream pressure changes and modulates pressure inside the upper diaphragm chamber, opening or closing the main valve automatically without needing electricity or battery backup.
Every Indus pilot circuit incorporates an in-line self-cleaning stainless steel fine wire-mesh strainer located at the high-pressure water inlet. Turbulent flow across the main valve seat continuously washes the strainer face, preventing Tigris and Euphrates silt and scale from entering the pilot lines.
Each valve is delivered fully assembled and bench-tested, equipped with upstream and downstream glycerin-filled pressure gauges, pilot speed needle valve, isolating ball cocks, and calibration instructions ready for immediate field commissioning.
